Profile

Carl completed a B.S. Chemistry from Harding University in 1985 and Completed his Ph.D. Analytical Chemistry from Texas A&M University in 1990. Carl has a very strong applications knowledge in Plastics, Rubber, Elastomers, Polymers and Nanotechnology. Carl founded McAfee Consulting in 1996 providing independent consulting services to the Chemical and Polymer industries. Previously, he worked as Technical Director for Chase Elastomer Corporation and as Project Leader for Dow Chemical in Polyurethane application development in Polyurethane chemistry, Polymer science and foams.

Carl also worked at the Fritz-Haber Institute der Max Planck Gesselschaft in Berlin on applications of Field Ion Microscopy and Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry and at U.S. Borax Corporation on applications of Atomic Absorption of Precious Metals. Carl’s specific areas of expertise is in analytical chemistry, polymer development, thermoplastic elastomers, nanotechnology and application development. Carl holds several patents and has published numerous papers.
